The planning department of the Town of Brookline wanted to find out the preferences of their high-school students: what was their favorite place in town, and why; what was their least favorite place in town, and why?

As a town which already has a top quality GIS (and an internet WEB-based GIS at that), using VectorEyes was a simple, effective way to create an interactive web-site, which would be easy for high-school students to use, and equally easy for the town to maintain, without having to resort to any additional programming.

VectorEyes provided a clean, simple and technically very elegant solution to view and interact with ESRI shape files without the need for any additional programming or complicated software routines. Using VectorEyes technology also allowed the display of the preferences and the reasons for the preferences of the students via and administrator-only screen in real time. No other product is capable of that kind of real-time interaction over the web today.
